For Additional Information, Contact: 3-D Service Buys Grand Eagle Massillon Industrial Equipment Service Center – New Management Promises More Customer Focused Support Massillon, OH – 3-D Service, Ltd. has purchased the Massillon, Ohio Industrial Equipment Service Center from Grand Eagle, Inc. The 85,000 square foot facility employs approximately 60 and specializes in the repair and service of commercial and industrial equipment used in metal producing, manufacturing, chemical, automotive, electric utility, wastewater treatment, and transportation industries. According to Bernie DeWees, president of 3-D Service, "This facility has tremendous repair and service capabilities and a very skilled workforce. I’m excited about the many opportunities we have to grow this business by providing customers with exceptional repair, service and new product support from a single source. Our management team has been working day and night since the purchase to begin implementing the procedures and policies to help us do the things that will delight customers." Grand Eagle purchased the facility in 2000 from ABB Service, Inc., a recognized world leader in industrial automation equipment. At that time, Mr. DeWees was vice president, operations for the facility. After the purchase by Grand Eagle, Mr. DeWees was vice president for operations, northern zone, for the Grand Eagle Motor Group. He has over 24 years of experience in the industrial service industry ranging from entry level to now, as company president. The Massillon facility repairs mammoth-sized equipment such as 80,000 horsepower electric motors used in steel mills, as well as hydroelectric turbines and generators. It is one of a few facilities that is certified to repair coolant pump motors used in nuclear power plants and that can also repair and re-certify UL® listed electric motors used in hazardous locations. The facility also provides Total Motor Management services that help customers reduce the risk of equipment breakdowns while lowering repair and maintenance costs. 3-D Service also provides on-site services such as preventive and predictive maintenance, and 24/7 emergency breakdown service.
