Magnetech Industrial Services recently introduced its new PowerPro 10kw generator set at the International Scrap Recyclers Institute trade show held April 7-9 in Las Vegas.  The completely self-contained system includes the fuel tank, vibration isolation mounts, balanced lifting point, battery controls, and automatic oil pressure shut down.

Powered by its own diesel engine, the unit is mounted on the crane but does not interfere with crane operation.  It requires only a place on the crane to mount the skid with wiring to the operator’s cab for the lift/drop switch. A cable runs up the boom/stick to the magnet.  This allows routine maintenance to be performed without removing the unit while at the same time allowing easy removal for major repairs or relocation to another crane.  The self-contained unit can be easily relocated from an idle crane to another crane, provided it can handle the magnet and its load.

The unit utilizes a Baldor 10kw generator, Kubota diesel engine and Hubbell magnet controller. The meter panel uses resistor controlled voltage for reliability and low maintenance.  The pistol grip controller includes lift/drop push buttons in the handle for easy use.
